While I like your other examples, could this most recent example be a small piece of man created metal included into a polished piece of lab grown quartz or just a small piece of polished glass. If so, there would be nothing natural about it??? BOB

He did say he had used a polariscope and confirmed it was crystalline, so it isn't glass. But, yes, Bob, it does look synthetic. Could be lab-grown quartz around a piece of metal. I have lab-grown quartz with metal wires inside.

Well, I can only confirm that it is genuine quartz, there is simply no way to tell if it is natural or lab-grown. But, if it is lab-grown ,I guess they will make more ,so I'll see if I can find something like this in the future.

Hi BOB,
I had someone did a SED/EDS analysis on this specimen.
The result suggests that the inclusion should be Cannizzarite, totally natural, just very rare in quartz.
(The Au in the result is from the Gold coating they did before the analysis)
