For a number of unwanted reasons, including a delightful unexpected strike by the French airspace controllers and the surreal unforeseen management of the airlines in general I have already landed (quite literally 😉) at Ste. Marie.

Finally and despite what it seemed the first days, it will be a good Show for the novelties, mainly Moroccan, although many of these novelties will not be seen by the visitors, either because they have been sold entirely or because those who have them prefer to show them in privacy.
Surely we will see them soon online and, physically, I'm sure we will see them later at the Munich Show or at small local Shows that take place before Munich.

As has been said so many times before, Ste. Marie is unique.
From the same Show you can see mountains with cows grazing and you can even hear the braying of donkeys.
Its privileged geographic position allows that so special communion with the Nature. |

The Prestige Exhibition was carried out by Alain Martaud.
The theme this year was "Fantasmineral: collectors’ dreams‘" - a short-lived museum dedicated to the collectors’ dreams and their mineralogical fantasies.

Carles Manresa has done an excellent job in the Spanish side and he has published there a lot of images and infos. He did so well that this time I will cancel my regular notes about the new discoveries and I suggest everybody read Carles Manresa's text (revised for me) using the Google translator located at the left top of the page.

Although the Fiebre Verde review of this year's exhibition "Fantasmineral: Rêves de collectionneurs" has been very complete, as the exhibition was about the hidden treasures I have chosen my 5 favorite treasures "half-hidden" within the exhibition of hidden treasures ;-) because I believe that maybe they have gone a little bit unnoticed among the number of extraordinary pieces of this year's exhibition.
As each of these pieces bears its associated label, I leave to the good judgment of the FMFers to suppose why I believe that each of these 5 pieces deserves special attention.

The ParisTech Mineralogy museum has a very nice set of Cumengeite and Boleite crystals on display.
Same for the Beirut MIM museum.

Very interesting. We talk about the 'lack of innocence' of mineral shows, but the photo of soldiers patrolling the event also reminds me of the general 'lack of innocence' of life today. Ah, the 60s to the mid-90s were a different time.........and a time I miss for minerals and life, generally.......sigh....
....but I still love life and still love minerals despite the changes....
