Hi Fred,
Your pictures are beautiful as usual :-). It would be a good idea to put a few pictures of wulfenite and fluorite if you have some (I tried to take a couple of pictures but they are so ugly I do not dare to post them here).
Thanks
Christophe

Indeed, your photographs are always amazing, looking at them induce a kind of sweet and sour feeling. Sweet due to the beauty of the specimens you share with us. Sour, because a feel envy of your expertise.
Best regards.
Jose Luis.

Indeed, very beautiful pyromorphites!
Just to add an amusing afterthought, when I read the title of your post I did of course assume that you were going to talk about micro crystals of some mineral from the Beaujolais region of France. But it made me smile to wonder if instead, you were going to show us pictures of micro crystals that had formed WITHIN bottles or casks of Beaujolais! My good friend, Renate Schumacher from the University of Bonn Museum, prepared a display for the 2009 Tucson show, of this very thing--crystals formed in wine; following (and even perhaps, going beyond) the show's theme of "Mineral Oddities". Here is a picture of part of her display, "Der Stein im Wein". The crystals are of several potassium tartrates.
I just checked in Mindat about pyromorphite from France; I see there are quite a number of localities listed in the Rhone-Alpes Province, which includes Beaujolais; as well as, several in Burgundy too!

Hello Fred.
Very nice pictures. Among other things, I find the control you have of the lighting is remarkable. All crystal faces show up, reflexions are kept at a minimum, in some photos one even can see through the mineral, well done. You should post a photo of your lighting setup to show us how you manage to illuminate such tiny crystals.
Regards.
Jose Luis.

Hello Jose Luis,
in fact my system is very vrey simple. In fact, my system is probably the most simple in the world of microphotographer.
All my system can be take in a simple back bag...... I prefer keep this secret and some others (small) secrets.

Hi Fred.
I understand you very well. From looking at your pictures I know that I have to improve on the white balance that I use. Also I need to try with additional sources of light, illuminating the sample while avoiding direct light to reflect from the crystals.
I will continue practicing, and in the meantime I will enjoy your photographs.
Best regards.
Jose Luis.

Salut Fred,
Congratulations ! I really like your pictures. The one with mimetite, fluo, quartz, goethite... is quite impressive. Could you give the dimension of the specimen ?
Thanks
Christophe
