We are gearing up for our annual pilgrimage to the Tucson Gem and Mineral show and all the surrounding venues. Right now we are putting together displays for the main show, but also packing and thinking about our clothes, shoes, parties....
This year we continue with our tradition of sponsoring a young person. We encourage others to bring geoclub, mineral club college students who cannot fathom going to a mineral show, and pay their way to experience the community and mineral world.
Blake is our sponsored student this year, and he resides in the town we live in. Last year we had a young man from Denver, and the year before we had a fellow from New Haven, Connecticut.
So please, if in Tucson, introduce yourself to Blake. He will be with us most of the main show.
So....we are putting together our displays. Blake is here helping us now.

He spent 8 hours helping us today. Our assistant, Erin, also was here helping me with my case to honor Peter Lyckberg and Malmberget, Sweden.

First thing, Friday morning, we are hosting a Breakfast with Minerals Podcast for BlueCap productions. We might be tired from driving the whole day before, but hosting these podcasts makes for great fun first thing in the morning.
