We're in mid-July and the next BIG mineral shows on the horizon are the upcoming Denver shows. I'm going to be posting a lot of information about the brand new HardRock Summit show coming to the Colorado Convention Center but I invite everyone to share ANY kind of updates to any of the Denver shows. Also, it'd be fun to see who is planning on coming to Denver and why.

There has been A LOT of misunderstanding about what exactly is the HardRock Summit.
Basically, the HardRock Summit is the new mineral show that's coming to Denver with 2021 being its first year.
There are two venues within the HardRock Summit - Evolution and Sparkle & Joy.
Evolution is focused on minerals, fossils and meteorites and will be held at the Colorado Convention Center from September 16 - September 19. This venue is basically Dave Waisman's Fine Mineral Show: Denver (formerly held at the Denver Marriott West in Golden, Colorado) plus some new dealers. The Denver Gem and Mineral Show (aka the DGMS Club Show) will also be held in the Evolution venue as a show-within-a-show.
Sparkle & Joy is focused on fine gemstones and fine jewelry and will be held at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel in the Plaza Ballroom from September 18 - September 21. This show will have individual dealers as well as two shows-within-a-show - the AGTA Gem Fair: Denver and the ICA show.
More detailed information for both venues are available via the HardRock Summit's FAQs section which you can visit at:

FYI, Larry Haven has speakers lined up to give talks Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Denver show. At this point, there are 2 talks scheduled each day, from 10-11 and 11-12. So far, I believe he has Dave Bunk, Jeff Freiburg, Virgil Lueth, Peter Megaw, Jeff Scovil, Phil Simmons, Lou Taylor, and yours truly--it looks like a great line-up. I hope many of you can make it!

Worth noting that the Denver Council Show...the outfit that kicked things off in Denver...is celebrating FLUORITE as their theme this year...should be very popular. Most (all?) Of the talks will be on fluorite (in my case Mexican Fluorite) and we should see some exceptional exhibits too.
Combining these shows is a real challenge before you consider what Covid has done to us. This makes it all the.more important that folks turn out to support the Club show as well as the dealer shows. You've been starved for a mineral show fix for 16 months...they have been starved of income for nearly 2 years! Gotta show up so there's something to show up for in the future.
Rock on!!
