Walked through the Miner's Lunchbox's room again and noticed two of the largest and nicest red fluorites. Very impressive just to see these.

Hello Bob:
The green mineral to the left in the photo is a pseudo, can you confirm a pseudo of what (Malachite after Azurite)! Looks like a nice piece worth getting.
All the best

Today was opening day of the Westward Look Show. I'll start with Anton Watzl's room then move to Scott Rudolf's room - Scott is selling off some of his incredible collection. More to follow.
Anton's room had some new and unique items:
- Zunyite from Iran in perfect textbook crystals
- Gold from Morocco - stacks of twinned crystals and a few on matrix
- Diaspore from Turkey (labeled as Zultanite)
Anton pretty much bought the entire find of these excellent specimens.

Now to Scott Rudolf's room - one word and one specimen: wulfenite.
This MUST be seen in person to appreciate the size of the crystals on this specimen - in the range of 10-12 cm on the edge - and brilliant yellow. This is from La Morita Mine MX, so it must've been extracted within the last 3-4 years. Scott said he initially only saw a photo of this piece with no reference in the photo to show size. The next photo/video he received showed the piece being held and his mind - like ours - was blown away.
Next to the wulfenite is a lustrous, gemmy and beautifully blue euclase from Colombia. Certainly, among the best in the world.
Next to that is a pair (or three) of huge azurite crystals from Milpillas in electric blue of course.
There are lots of other great pieces in the room but I'm trying to keep this relatively short.

From what I can see on the photo, this euclase specimen (IMG_5515.JPG) seems to be rather from La Marina, Boyacá, Colombia.

it was my intention not participate in this excellent thread because I'm not attending Tucson, but in order to try to maintain the standards of FMF I will participate with some slight precisions to the extraordinary work of Bob.

- The Zunyites from Iran came out to the market for first time in 2018-2019 and from then they were largely mentioned in mineral magazines from USA and Europe. A quick search on Internet can show dozens of these specimens.
- The twinned Golds from Morocco came out to the market for first time in 2020, first with a generic name of 'Guelmim-Oued Noun' and very shortly with the more precise locality name of Aouint Ighoman and from then they were largely mentioned in mineral magazines from USA and Europe.
A quick search on Internet can show hundreds of these specimens.
- The Diaspore ('zultanite' is a local European name for gemmy / dichroic Diaspore) from the new works in the Ilbir Mountain did appear in the market for first time in 2019-2020 and from then they were largely mentioned in mineral magazines from USA and Europe.
A quick search on Internet can show dozens of these specimens.
Please continue your great report Bob!

Is there any "Gachala mine" anyways :-P
If it were from the Gachala area it would be Vega de San Juan or something, right?
(It also looks to me more like the Marina material, especially if the white seen is albite, as the Gachala area seems to me to have a different matrix material)

My understanding is that the euclase known as from 'Gachala mine' comes actually from the Vega de San Juan mine, in the Gachala mining district.
As for 'Chivor mine' or 'Muzo mine', 'Gachala mine' is a misuse of language.

Chistophe Gobin's room at the Westward Look was well stocked with large specimens of various copper based minerals from the Congo. Large and minimal damage - plus a unique find of Kolwezite after Cuprite on Cobaltoan Dolomite. See photos.

Absolutely beautiful copper minerals – I love copper minerals.
I have many Malachite specimens in my collection – my children say too many, but it is a great mineral to collect. I often tell many people that if they want ‘bang for the buck’ buy Malachite. You can get some stunning display quality pieces, and at prices less than 500GBP.
I have seen some fine native coppers from Luilu, Lualaba, DR Congo for sale. Have you seen any at Tucson yet?

Haven't seen any Congo native coppers but I've not really looked for them much. Rob Sielecki of Ausrox did have some wonderful - a pretty cheap - native coppers from Rocklands Mine in Queensland, Australia - see photo. This one was $250US - a good deal!

The Rocklands mine produced some very fine native coppers. My partner and I have two large cabinet pieces from the mine (Las Minerale Pit). We also have some fine photos of the mine's development from 2010 to 2017 thanks to family, friends and former shareholders.
The English company, UK Mining Ventures did a specimen recovery program at the Las Minerale Open cut in 2017. I suspect all specimens from the mine came via UK Mining Ventures.
