The collection of Dr Rostenne (veterinarian) (1942-2005) was one of the best in Belgium. Upon his death, the collection was transferred to the National Museum of Natural History of Luxembourg. The curator is Dr. Simon Philippo.
4 poles constituted it: the fluorites of Seilles (Belgium), the alpine quartz, the collection of various world masterpieces and finally the collection of Panasqueira items.
Belgian fluorites dated from the 1960s before popular collections emerged. In fact, André Rostenne had bought the collection of the parish priest of Bouillon (Belgium), Abbé Poncelet.
By his function, in those ancient times (before 60’s), the priest knew how to open the doors of the miners of Panasqueira.
Fabulous specimens thus found their way to Dr. Rostenne.

Some really fine specimens of Panasqueira minerals. My partner and I especially like the Ferberite specimen – truly a fine piece.

Hello Tobi:
We absolutely adore the Ferberite specimens from Panasqueira. In our humble opinion the Panasqueira Ferberite specimens are the best in the world. We have a several Ferberite specimens in our collection – some from China and others from Bolivia – but those from Panasqueira outshine all others. And we hope to add more Panasqueira Ferberite specimens in the next few months.
What is there not to like about a Panasqueira Ferberite?

Hi Silvia, it's just that ferberite in general was never a mineral that interested me that much. But specimens like the one above are absolutely amazing masterpieces, no question!

Just pulling your leg! I am never to be taken seriously – when I am serious it will be in the form of a PM.
I know Ferberite is not everyone’s favourite. One of our mineral collecting themes is the d-block Transition elements. Since Panasqueira is a Tungsten mine we have attempted to put together a suite of Panasqueira minerals in which the d-block elements Tungsten, Tin and Copper are the dominant show pieces. We have recently acquired a few high-end Copper specimens from Panasqueira and we hope to purchase a few more Tin and Tungsten specimens too.
Again do not take me too seriously.

Typo - Tin is not a d-block, just an element of economic importance at the mine - oopppps! Sorry!
