Hi,
I saw this piece on a bluecap productions video and i remember the distinctive calcite star from an instagram post i saw a while ago. I can’t work it out. It looks like the calcite sceptre is too close to the star to correspond with the original instagram post. I may be totally wrong here. I was just looking for some expert opinions on it.
You can see the piece with the sceptre here around the 1:20 mark. https://youtu.be/TENzMr3Apsk?si=NnNuuRzrzj0Di6dQ
You can see the piece presumably just after cleaning on instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CYJxBS-uDBb/

Again, I don’t want to make any unjustified accusations. I’m just looking for opinions of those more knowledgable than me.
Thanks

I’m pretty sure they are the same specimen, you can clearly see the amethyst hump on both, with the slightly paler hue. You can also the rotational angle of the crystals coming from the calcite star. I’ve added a few more screenshots from the video for reference. The video shows it a bit clearer.
Edit: you can also see the stubby calcite crystals coming from the star next to the hump in both pictures.

The specimen is featured in this post

This is that star, enlarged. Based on that long thin crystal and its neighbours it does look like it was fabricated

Sure, that post makes me think even more they are the same. It looks like the instagram photo is the same rock held at a different angle. It has the same features. Even the thin elongated one. The sceptre may be out of shot somehow in the instagram shot i guess. But by the look of the video they are quite close together.

Such fabrications are not new, and the long thin pointy crystal does seem to 'point' that way, but which one has been implanted?

It would be easier to move the star and hide the change than the column?

Occam’s razor to me suggests if anything is manipulated it’s the sceptre as the topology of the amethyst matrix corresponds to the orientation of the star in both photos. As for the ease, i have no idea how difficult something like that could be. If it is an augmentation then the author is an artist.
