Found in Koh Phangan, Thailand up in the hills in an old road dig site. There’s a lot of decaying granite. Pegmatites around with quartz, schorl, beryl (light green and aquamarine), feldspar (white, blue and pink).

I’ve found a couple of seams of this stuff. It’s quite decayed so can’t see any crystal habit or tell its luster. It’s bright lime green in colour when wet, becomes a bit more desaturated to semi pastel lime when dry.

Apparently, the island used to be mined for tin back in the day. But I can’t confirm this with geology reports. A few older Thai friends told me they used to get paid to find black stones in the rivers. Thinking this could have been massive cassiterite?

You would need to test the rocks from the vein for minerals

To me if it is in an area that has copper ore present it has the feel of Pyromorphite or mimetite. But you would need close up shots of crystals of some for to even hazard a meaningful guess

More likely epidote, which is not uncommon as veins and fracture coatings in altered granites.
