And one more gold, this time it is a nugget from a river deposit in California. With a size of 0,7 cm, this small nugget is the smallest specimen in my collection:

Thank you Dany, I hope you have a nice day too!
Since my sons (9 y/o & 7 y/o) have their own collection, I had to get them some gold too:

The last pieces I published were really really small, this new specimen is slightly larger ;-)
As a galena collector I'm really happy that I could get this huge and beautiful piece from Joplin/Missouri. It came from an old collection and was mined in the 1960s or 1970s. I know not everybody loves galena; but when you like it, this piece is a stunner.
Mineral: | Galena |
Locality: | Joplin Field, Tri-State District, Jasper County, Missouri, USA

Dimensions: | Specimen size 20 x 20 cm, largest crystals 3 cm |

I do love galena, Tobi. This one is an impressive sample of Joplin, a museum specimen. You're very lucky to own it and to have enough room at home to keep it. Congrats!

Tobi, I think you can guess how I feel about this piece. You have a fine example that showcases classic bright, cubic crystals and impressive size. Congratulations.

Congrats! | Thank you Carles. Indeed I am really lucky, this piece became instantly one of the greatest highlights in my collection. And concerning enough room to keep it .... I had to play a little 3d mineral Tetris in my showcases to find a place for this heavy piece. Most of my shelves are glass so I had to re-arrange the collection in order to find a place on a wooden shelf. But it worked :-)

A nice day to you too & best regards

When I got this specimen in 2020 from Rudi Watzl I posted it with the professional Saphira Minerals photo because taking photos of transparent quartzes sometimes is a struggle.
Here's the original post from 2020: https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?p=73617#73617
Now I made a photo that may not be a really good one but it shows this wonderful alpine crystal in a more natural way than the original dealer photo:
Mineral: | Quartz, chlorite |
Locality: | Hocharn, Rauris Valley, Zell am See District, Hohe Tauern, Salzburg, Austria

Dear friends and fellow mineral enthusiasts,
I just discovered a second red star next to my collection thread which means that it reached 2 million views! I want so say thank you to all the people here on FMF who read, liked and commented my posts.
Thank you so much for being such a wonderful community; and again, Master Jordi, thank you for creating this place :-)
I want to share 2 photos again at this moment, the vanadinite from Morocco that was my very first photo here in April 2009 and the honey-spar fluorite from Wölsendorf which is in my opinion the greatest highlight in my entire collection.
Thank you all and let's keep this forum alive!
Best regards
Tobi
