Lets hope it was gamma irradiation (if it was irradiated), and it's already "cooled down"...

Thanks Amir, great example photos. I have the Champagne color smoky quartz, I guess they call it. I see lots of yellow hues, and just now noticed red specks in areas after looking again.

Yes, I really don't see bubbles when looking at it. If no bubbles, would that rule out glass?

I'm a newbie to the gem/crystal hobby. I ordered this from China on eBay.

The seller says its Tanzanite? The actual ad read:
"114g Rare Tanzanite Fire Elestial Monatomic andara Crystal ...
