Does anyone know if the new open cast copper mine called Las Cruces near Seville Spain allows collecting and indeed if there are any interesting minerals there? |

Thanks Jordi
The information doesn't give information on possible minerals present or whether it is possible to get permission to visit.

As I have not this info and considering that you could write Spanish, I suggest to you to place your request on the Spanish forum.
If you can't, please letting me know and I will publish there a short note asking for it on your behalf.

Many thanks Jordi, I think I understand the Spanish. Essentially the mine is waiting for environmental approval but that if it goes ahead in the future there could be interesting minerals in the gossan. |

Ray McDougall tried to publish a message but as he need to use a very long link, I publish it on his behalf, otherwise it would be too complicate for him to publish it.
Thanks for your contribution Ray!.
Under Canadian securities legislation, Inmet (which holds a 70% interest in Las Cruces) is required to file with the Canadian Securities Regulatory Authorities a technical report in respect of each of its material properties, to support its public disclosure record.
The Pincock Allen & Holt technical report on Las Cruces is posted on the internet - the direct link is https://www.sedar.com/GetFile.do?lang=EN&docClass=13&issuerNo=00003181&fileName=/csfsprod/data57/filings/00794138/00000001/f%3A%5Cjbarrett%5Cinmet1562-2011%5Ctechreport%5C43-101-f.pdf
If this direct link doesn't work or isn't easily copied from this forum page, go to https://www.sedar.com/ then click through the pages as follows: English; next page at top "Search Database"; next page "Search for Public Company Documents"; on the next page search parameters come up - you need to enter Inmet under the company name, and use a date range that includes May-July 2005 (the report was filed June 1, 2005).

John
James Catmur here! My company bid to do the environmental impact work for the mine, but we lost the project. So somewhere we must have some files on it, but as that was years ago and we lost the work I have no idea where they would be or if they would be of any interest.
