"The Lead and Zinc deposits of the Silvermines District, County Tipperary, Ireland have been mined for centuries. In 1978, the International Mogul Silver Mine became famous for world class mineral specimens with the discover of a spectacular, single large crystal pocket containing galena, sphalerite, dolomite, quartz, Baryte and pyrite. Many of the pieces from the find were acquired by a Cornish mineral dealer, but some were saved by the miners. These classic mineral specimens were donated to the ROM by the former mine foreman at the Mogul Mine." (gift of Mr. Joseph Sönser) |

We brought home 6 pieces when the Glove Mine produced the very best specimens 91940s to 1950s). The piece imaged had it's very own seat on the plane on the way home from Tucson that year. Some of the blades of wulfenite are 2 to 3 inches across. It is an absolutely wonderful piece, with zero damage, and it will never travel because wulfenites are so darn finicky.

PARADISE!!! :-) Especially the giant Honigspat fluorite monster from Wölsendorf makes me shiver, what an awesome specimen!
Do you know where exactly from Germany this huge baryte is?
