Hi Mr Simonoff,
Maybe it is just a first impression but the citrine IMG_2530 looks like a thermally treated amethyst.
The sample IMG_2531 is Mexican, probably from Las choyas, Chihuahua.

Thank you, when I am don't posting pictures, I will point Dr Kearns to this thread and he can go through everyone's helpful comments. He has proven in the past to be very interested in any information or advice that will help the museum.
