Hello friends,
I`m new here. I have a question regarding buying gemstones in Germany and Europe. I used to live in Japan and Okachimachi wholesale market had huge suppliers . Also my friend in Tokyo told me that the best minerals I can get are in Tuscon.
Currently I live in Germany, last year visited Idar Oberstein, but I could not find great stones.
Please let me know kindly if there are particular addresses in Germany or Europe where I can get real gemstones, minerals of high quality. I appreciate your information very much ! Ludmila |

Ludmila,
This is a Forum of minerals (not gemstones) and a non commercial Forum as you can see in the A general guide for using the Forum with some rules and tips point 5:
5.-) We do not allow any form of publicity on these pages, or links to any other web pages that are not related to the theme being discussed or the aims of the forum. This is not a commercial forum, so the sale of minerals is not allowed.
so, don't be surprised if you don't get answers to your request. |

Thank you for reply. I'm designer and use minerals and gems. I read that some people here are gemmologists.
I don't have goal to sell or buy here , my purpose is learning new information. And also minerals and gems are my hobby.
Why members cannot share information on my topic if your forum shares links on mineral shows worldwide, which is business ? |

As far as the topic don't moves to the commercial the members can share information if they want. I just warned you about the fact that this Forum is probably not he best place to collect this kind of info. |

Hi, Ludmilla
Done that seems that is correct to answer (was my doubt before), I could say that in Idar Oberstein you should find many dealers in nice precious and semiprecious pieces.
I worked for a german that used to buy there (and believe me, I have seen when I was a kid impresionant things, by the way, even more impresionant today (never more seen)).
Just you should ask and show them than you buy, that you are not a simply curious.
Not for diamonds (Antwerp or Amsterdam), but for precious or semiprecious stones, Idar is a dream. Of course, for cut pieces. Not rough (or I am not aware for rough)
For minerals, well, Munich is a dream.
So, Germany is a good place to get what you wish
More places, of course, but Munich and Idar, well.....
With best wishes

Hi Ludmila!
If you see the other forum https://gemologyonline.com (link normalized by FMF) you can achieve many information about gemstones!
I knew that forum properly here through this forum and I have been enroled there for one and a half year! It's very interesting. The forum I mentioned is not a commercial one as well as this one.
Then you should know Mindat: there is another branch of this forum called "Gemdat". If you are enroled there, you can enter this branch as well!
Greetings from Italy by Riccardo. _________________ Hi! I'm a collector of minerals since 1973 and a gemmologist. On Summer I always visit mines and quarries all over Europe looking for minerals! Ok, there is time to tell you much much more! Greetings from Italy by Riccardo. |
