Hi all,
It's time you start uploading my modest micro minerals. I have little time so that I will upload slowly.
They are original thumbnails and upload them to the forum is compressed and loses quality, but hope you like.
Regards, Oscar.

Hi Mark,
I checked the white balance and may have a little tendency the dioptase photo to the blue, but I have not seen much saturation. Otherwise all the color intensity is moderated.
The dioptase have blue or green color depends of the angle.
Exist difraction too in the corner left-up if you see the High Resolution picture, this is the big problem to take a picture of this mineral. Finally later of some test i can take the picture that you can see with a moderated difraction. This photography makes this more interesting.
Now I'll put a picture very complicated to do for the hairs. These point to the camera and give unwanted glare. In this photo is pretty much under control this problem. Hope you like it.
See better the High resolution: https://MacroRail.com/imagenes/M1465EscolecitaAgaete01.jpg

Hallo Oscar,
Thank you for the beautiful pictures.
About dioptase:
Making pictures of this mineral is very difficult because of the color. In the analogue period all the color films has difficulties with the blue/green color of dioptase. It's funny that now a days with digital equipment this color problem still exist.
You're right, the color of your dioptase is a litle to blue. It's an intereseting experiment using photoshop to improve the color.
regards,Herman

Outstanding photographs and specimens!
I'm interested in your control software. Now, I'm useing a macro rail from Manfrotto. I think, this is a high quality product, but it is only for moving the camera by hand, so with higher magnification it is a risk to camera shake. I am testing now Camera Control Pro 2 Testversion from Nikon. With this software, you can not automate the stack shot process; you have to take the focus point manual on your computer.
My questions:
Is it able to automate the shot process with your software, probably from 2 up to 50 pictures (frames)?
Can I use my Nikon D5100 with Nikkor 18 - 55 mm (for higher magnification I am useing tubes)?
My computer:
Windows Vista Home Premium
Combine ZP
GIMP 2

Hi Martin,
I'm constantly evolving my software to make it as easy as possible to make stacked, it does not matter the number of photos. I done in a single stack over 600 photos without problems. You can find basic information of the software in MacroRail.com and can read the user manual here: https://macrorail.com/software/UserManual_1.1.0.5.pdf
Now I'm developing functions to measure fov, edges, faces and any part of minerals.
My software works with your Nikon D5100 smoothly. I guess if you put your Nikkor inverted and extension tubes will not reach more than 5x. Is that so? If you want more magnification need to use microscope objectives as I do.
I from my software I can do the entire process; from the beginning and end that I want to photograph using LiveView see in big screen, moving focus rail and take photos, call stack as I will see results and stack again, touch images, sub-stacks, etc. I've even added a function to detect if the batteries of a flash or lights fail you and pause the process until correct.
If you want to automate your system, you can read you this article I wrote that sure is of interest: http :// www. photomacrography. net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19824
I also think it might be of interest to you this article: http :// www. photomacrography. net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21054
You can use some kind of adapter for the motor to move your micrometer or some have used a silicone tube and wooden adapter.
It is best to send me a private section with your doubts.
I add two vanadinite...
