Hello Am,

On your photo your Arkansas quartz specimen seems to have some lightly smokey crystals. Is it so ? If yes could this be the kind of smokey quartz that you can find in Arkansas ? I heard about some time ago, but never had an opportunity to look at one. Anyway great photo.

Thanks

Christophe

Thanks Bob and Christophe.

Christophe - the quartz does have a slight smokiness. I don't know if this is typical for the locality.

Hi Am. As always, I enjoy viewing your specimens. The specimen 'QtzDolomite1.jpg', the description says quartz, but I see vey little quartz (only on the back). What is the black mineral on the dolomite? Best regards.

Pierre - The specimen is supposed to be a pseudomorph. Quartz replacing dolomite. I do not know what is causing the black coloration.

I apologize Am! I did not read the description! It is a very unusual specimen.

Hi Am, this last quartz seems to have inclusions. If indeed it does, what are they?

Pierre - Yes there are inclusions in the smoky quartz specimen. I do not know what the inclusions are. There was no information on the label regarding the inclusions.
