Roger

Thank you for the photos.

That Galena could not be Cornish - the label says 'Cumbria', which makes far more sense. I have made that change for you

There is a label over the Chrysoberyl. So I think about 10 cm. I remember I was really impressed during my visit in Munich! By the way I love this thread - brings back best memories........

Hi John,
It’s a Preggi’s specimen. The labels are 75 mm, I think.
This would give a size of the chrysoberyl close to 15 cm wide.
What do you think Gerhard ?
I have seen greatest specimens in Munich Show (1989) provided from Brazil by Roger Titeux. The biggest was broken into 2 pieces (about 27 cm). It lies in a Paris museum. The second measured 22 cm. It was shaped like a triangle with its single twin. It should also be kept in France.
Roger.

Yes Tobi good stuff. But we see that many of that 'good stuff' is recycled and is used in several show reports before. What is wrong with these specimens or are they simply to much overpriced?

Peter

Yes Peter. But there is one advantage: you can visit the show on the last day. I myself often photographed the same specimens in Munich and Ste Marie.
These minerals need to be watched several times.

Yep.
These are not good enough for the "Nouveau Riche Elite" , but look (and are!) extremely overpriced to us average to advanced collectors. So they will stay on the shelves for a long, long, long time...
There is absolutely NO shortage of even very good specimens!
Speculation of a few keeps the prices high, but others may have a different opinion...
