| Thanks, Gail, for this photo tour. Did you happen to note the locality for the huge beryl crystal sitting on the floor (DSC02846.jpg)? I'm wondering if it's from the Bumpus Mine here in Maine.

I visited the museum many many years ago and was disappointed - yes many nice things but I disliked the displays, lighting and labelling. Looks like it has been completely overhauled - now looks great.
If I get back over there I'll have to pay a visit.
Looks like they now have the right people looking after the displays. Well presented, well lit, and well labelled.
Thank you so much for posting, really appreciated, especially when the exhibits are so far away.
