Hi,
This friendly elbaite specimen is from Himalaya Mine (Munich 1984).
Jesse, can you provide more details about its origin?
The crystal of orthoclase is really similar to those of textbooks. It is not twinned.
It also bears albite and a small pink lepidolite.
What do you think about it?
Roger.

Hello Roger,
Beginning in 1980 Pala International (Bill Larson's company) drove a new adit to access the Himalaya pegmatite low on the southern end of the property. Your specimen looks very much like some of the things that came from this area of the mine. I was told by Bill that one of the first major pockets found as a result of this new adit was in 1983, Given the date of acquisition (1984), your specimen may have come from that find.

Many thanks Jesse.
It was a great time for tourmalines.
Roger.
