In the late 1960s and 1970s the Henneberg quarry near Weitisberga was a famous locality for beryl aggregates in granite. The radial crystals reached 10 cm and more.

 Description:
Very similar to the popular calcites from Kamsdorf, which is also in the Saalfeld mining district.
