Most crystals of this aggregate are terminated.
Typical Peñas Blancas creamy calcite on iron-stained coarse-grained black shale matrix.
A small white patch of calcium carbonate can be noticed in the middle of the specimen (upper center of the first image)..
Although quartz is abundant in Peñas Blancas, the specimen has no quartz at all.
Those images do not do justice to how attractive these beryl crystals are.

Large plate of quartz and albite crystals from Ganesh Himal.
Some of the quartz crystals are totally free of inclusions, but most of them are being included by deep green masses of chlorite and exhibit a transparent and colorless termination.
The quartz and albite rise from a gneiss matrix.

Thank you Philippe - I am glad to hear you appreciate this approach!
To id my specimens, I often take lots of shots from wide views to close-ups, exploring different lighting and using various angles.
And when reviewing the result, I find it's always a dilemma to choose just one picture that summarizes it all.
One of the beauty of this forum is that it gives the option to go beyond that one summary picture (Although I do realize that I sometimes abuse that freedom a little...)
