After my 2016 visit ended without any minerals ( https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?t=5034 ), I had more luck today! I hope you'll enjoy the following impressions, in order not to show several specimens again and again in different threads, I tried to focus on new stuff or specimens that I haven't shown before. I will start with this photo of a poor amethyst geode that had to suffer mineral nerd Tobi taking a selfie ;-)
P.S. I will not comment every photo, most mineral and locality names should be clear to non-German speakers. Concerning the sizes, most labels have a width between 5 and 8 cm.

A new special exhibit that I was sceptical of - "eggs" carved out of minerals. Well, not only some common stuff like jasper, agate or lapis, some of them really good mineral specimens. I'm not a fan of cutting, carving etc., thus I didn't mean to visit that exhibit at all. But the museum curator "caught" me today and showed me this stuff. Well, I could never like that stuff as much as natural minerals, but some of them are really nice, a great craftsmanship is needed to create them. There's still some pain in my heart when I see good crystallized matrix specimens treated like that. But there are also many minerals that are rather boring in their natural form and that get better when they are carved and polished. I think it's a matter of taste if you like them or not. However, the number of visitors is increasing, the curator told me ;)

Miscellaneous stuff, different German pyromorphites, classic German mimetite from Saxony, cryolite from Greenland, a rather impressive kyanite from Brazil, colourful smithsonites and adamites and a vanadinite with stunning large crystals (2-3 cm):

Miscellaneous stuff, rubellite, diamond crystals, maybe the most aesthetic kämmererite specimen I've ever seen, cinnabar specimens, two very similar malachites (one from Germany, one from Chile), a large prehnite from Hesse and several others:
