Carles you are too modest, your pictures are outstanding and I am enjoying all of them.

To parfaitelumiere:

>Hi Carles,Seems there is a mistake about the dolomite from Peru, seems the sample on the pics is a Baryte.

Hi!

I guess you are talking about this Baryte https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?p=5707#5707

First of all, I must state that the matrix of my specimen has not been chemically analyzed. But its apparent density, when held in my hand, does not seem to be the typical density of the Baryte. What's more, Jordi Fabre told me one week ago it was dolomite, and some other similar pieces at Mindat, coming from the same locality, are described as having a matrix of dolomite/dolostone. I believe dolostone is like limestone but made of dolomite instead of calcite.

Anyway, I thank you for your interest.

Hi John!

I've never been modest. Just realistic. My reference is Jeff Scovil, so in no way can I acknowledge my photos are 'outstanding' as you so kindly say. I'm learning and making some progress. However, I'm very glad you enjoy them.

Many thanks once again for your comments that I much appreciate,

Don't worry. No problem. I also make that kind of mistakes from time to time!

Weight: 441 g.

Until year 2007 it belonged to the James & Dawn Minette collection, Boron, California, with label #WW109.

Orthoclase, quartz

Orthoclase Baveno twin with quartz. Overall size: 58 mm x 40 mm. Orthoclase crystal size: 30 mm tall, 11 mm wide. Weight: 59 g. Undamaged. Purchased in 1974 from Joan Montal for 90 euro cents.

It might actually be microcline instead of orhoclase, but it is difficult to tell.

Bustarviejo, Madrid, Spain.

This specimen is no longer in my collection.

Almandine

Rhombododecahedral {110} almandine crystals on micacite. Overall size: 95 mm x 45 mm. Main crystal size: 57 mm across. Weight: 284 g. I suspect the crystal faces might have been somewhat polished or treated since they are too neat and smooth.
