About 2005, or shortly before, I purchased my first Madagascar celestine at the Tucson show. Since then my interest in these has been tweaked and I now have several more geodes and culled out specimens. I also have not only read about them in the mineral periodicals, but looked at them at all the shows I have attended.
This first one, however, still has my special attention as it is not only the largest (and heaviest, weighing 45 lbs), but the only one I have ever seen with a large double terminated blocky celestine crystal, being 9+ cm from end to end. As an aside, there also is a 4 cm perpendicular gemmy crystal sitting just behind the double terminated crystal.
Has anyone familiar with these, either as geodes or simple celestine specimens, ever seen another large and prominent double terminated celestine crystal as part of a similar specimen?
Thanks for any input. BOB

Thanks PIERRE, but I am really looking for responses specifically addressing the occurrence of double terminated celestine crystals in these specimens. BOB

This is the first I've seen so far in terms of DT celestine from the Sakoany Deposit.

I've seen a fair amount of this material, and I've only occasionally seen double-terminated crystals, and all of the ones that I have seen were much smaller, like 1 cm or less.
