After seeing Ed's collection of Viburnum Trend calcites in outstanding quality

I think I should add ALL calcites from Viburnum Trend to my favourites :-)

Some large and very fine calcites were collected in the Meshberger Stone Quarry in the 1950s thru the early 1970s. This example was collected in the early 1970s

I guess this specimen could also go in the "favorite fluorite" section, but I think the Calcite is the star of the show here. This specimen is from Illinois, Denton mine and the Bahama Pod. It measures 6x5x5 cm with a very gemmy amber/orange perfect calcite perched on dark purple fluorite.

Like looking into a small window, this 10.0 cm x 8.5 cm very unusual flat sided geode has a cavity hosting a 3.8 cm complex terminated calcite nestled in dolomite groupings and surrounding quartz. Self collected about 2006.
One dealer/collector has pleaded with me to acquire it every time he sees it in a display.

 Locality:
Harrodsburg area, Clear Creek Township, Monroe County, Indiana, USA
