Hello from Utah!
I'm new to mineral identification, it's sort of a hobby for me.
I have some interesting specimens to share. |

But I must disagree about there not being interesting minerals in the Netherlands. One of the cutest pyrrhotites I've ever seen came from a cavity in a flint nodule from the underground marl mines in Maastricht. There is even danburite from the Netherlands... You just have to drill down a long way to get it. ;)) |
Hi Alfredo, this is the ultimate proof, I rest my case! (Just kidding). Thanks for your welcome.

Hi,
my name is Stephan W Koch. Since there is already an active member with the name "Stefan Koch", I decided to use SWK as contact rather than my full name.
My wife and I spend part time of the year in Tucson/Arizona and the summers we are mostly in Germany, near Marburg.
I have been mineral collecting since childhood, with a current focus on minerals from Arizona.
Looking forward to many interesting future posts on FMF. Best regards, Stephan |

You spend your summers in Marburg?! I'm also in Marburg :-)

Hi Tobi,
thanks for your mail. It could well be that we have met ... I work here at the University and am involved with the Freunde des Mineralienmuseus etc....
Best, Stephan |

Stephan, welcome to our forum! We hope you enjoy the discussions with friendly mineral collectors here (plus a couple of cantankerous ones, but interesting people nevertheless). |

Stephan and Rita are close personal friends of mine and I'm glad to see he finally joined the FMF.
Stephan is a quite modest in his introduction. He is a Professor of Physics at both the U of A and Marburg, is incredibly knowledgeable in AZ minerals and has a AZ collection that is only surpassed by guys like Les Presmyk and Evan Jones.
Like most desert rats, Stephan and Rita also appreciate the Tucson flora/fauna and are experts in finding where the local spring wildflowers are best.
he will be another welcome addition to our flock.

Hello.
My name is Sante Celiberti and I live in Gavorrano (Prov. of Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy).
I've been collecting minerals for over 50 years and I've been following this forum every day for at list 5 years. I must admit that I've learned more in the last 5 years than in the rest of my mineralogical experience.
I delayed registering because I was held back by two handicaps: the limited knowledge of the English language and the lack of familiarity with the computer. But, in the end, here I am.
It is an honor to became part of this great family and it will be a pleasure to share this passion and continue to learn.
Although "Etrusco" is a first name in Tuscany, I chose it as a nickname because of the many mines exploited by the ancient Etruscans. In fact, while collecting minerals from all over the world, my attention goes mainly to the minerals of Tuscany.
A sincere greeting to Jordi, to the administrators, and moderators and to all the members of the FMF (English and Spanish). |

Welcome, no one here is universally expert so everyone has things to contribute as well as learn from others. I find it very interesting to see new (to me) examples and people keen to genuinely learn. Beware the damage to your savings some posts can have !(recently for me a post about Pike's Peak Fluorites convinced me I had to have some of these beauties for my collection). |

Thank you, Steve.
This is a risk we must face.
Although my collection is quite extensive (many thousands), my wish list is very long... |

A warm welcome to the Forum Sante. Do not worry about your English - your introductory post was just fine. I hope you will consider showing us some of the minerals in your collection from Tuscany.
