I saw this question posted on Mindat-FB page. Thought I'd get a definitive answer here. "Is it unusual - or even rare to have Apophyllite, Prehnite, Axinite, Diopside and Garnet in one paragenesis?". I would take that to mean, the same specimen. |

Vic, all of those minerals occur at Belvidere Mountain (Eden Mills), VT. _________________ John Betts |

They also occur at Franklin, NJ, but, as far as I know, not together; this is not a common association. |

My guess would be that the apophyllite and prehnite formed later than the axinite, diopside, and garnet, quite possibly in a second separate episode of mineralization. Any thoughts? _________________ Collecting and studying crystals with interesting habits, twinning, and epitaxy |
