Tobi

You have a good eye Tobi. The camera that I usually use is currently not working, so that photo was taken with my phone (not so bad for a phone image). I will have to reshoot it once I get my camera repaired.
Regards,
Michael

These new pink fluorites from Huanggang Mine #6 caused a bit of excitement this past September at the Denver Show.

The Ojuela Mine produces several different habits of wulfenite including thin tabular yellow crystals, the well known bi-pyramidal butterscotch-colored crystals on green mimetite, and blocky orange crystals somewhat similar to those from Los Lamentos. My favorite habit is shown below with sharply zoned crystals producing a "sandwich" effect. Collected in the 1960s from the America Poniente vein.

Not only in Denver: A friend of mine was at the Munich Show, both as a dealer and a visitor, and he purchased several of these. I visited him last week and he showed me the crystal clusters, some of them up to 7 cm with ~ 2 cm octahedrons, very impressive. Like yours, they all were floaters of simply perfect octahedrons, flawless and without any matrix or point of attachment, does anyone know if they were etched from the surrounding rock?
