Quartz from San Cristobal, Municipio Suaita, Santander Department, Colombia. (Nº-103).

Tessin habit quartz transparent and rich in faces.

We can distinguish a very narrow face by the discontinuity of the striations seen through the crystal.

Tessin habit crystal is the result of repeated alternating termination and prism faces forming a tapered crystal with striated faces.

Nice one, it nearly looks like an inverted version of a "mango" quartz from Cabiche ;-) I like it!

Halite from Dead Sea, Madaba Governorate, Jordan.

Botryoidal brain-like Halite with pearly luster and 3,5 cm thick, self-collected in 1999.

This specimen coated a rock on the Jordanian shore of the sea. The backside preserves the mold of sea rock.

The Dead Sea is the lowest place on Earth at 430 meters below sea level and a deep hypersaline lake that actively precipitates halite as a response to its negative water balance.

I think I've never seen a mineral specimen from Jordan before ...
Really interesting, Firmo, thanks for showing!

Quartz from Boekenhoutshoek area, Mkobola, Nkangala District, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa.

The central prismatic crystals are overgrown by smaller ones. The presence of iron oxides gives some portions an orange coloration.

In this specimen is easy to see the growth phases.
