This morning I decided to photograph a couple of specimens that I collected nearly 60 years ago on the Buckwheat dump at Franklin, New Jersey. I wanted to show the mineral in natural light and a corresponding photo under shortwave UV light. I was generally pleased with the photo of the willemite/calcite specimen but was unable to reproduce the vivid yellow fluorescence that the esperite showed. After spending nearly 30 minutes trying to correct the color with Photoshop, it still came out too green.

Thank you Firmo. It was a challenge to photograph these under UV light and get the colors correct.

Thanks Tobi. Tyuyamunite is a hydrous uranyl vanadate named for the Tyuya-Muyun Massif in Kyrgyzstan. Most commonly it occurs as earthy or microcrystalline crusts as opposed to nice big crystals, so it's not a common mineral seen in most dealer's stock. It's hard to beat that yellow color though.
