Hello,
I am pleased to announce that a long-time friend, Jean-Marie Pendeville, has been honored by a theca team associated with the National Museum of Natural History in Luxembourg, who recognized a new species in the copper crescent Katangese:
La Pendevilleite.

Hello,
Without having received confirmation from the authors, I think that on this beautiful sample of kamatoite (yellow radial fibers), the small white balls are pendevilleite. (photo: Mindat Credit).

Hello,
I was annoyed not to see a good photo of the pendevilleite-(Y) newborn from the IMA, when Jean-Marie was our friend.
His wife and children also wanted to see this famous mineral.
However, I am very close to the Belgian and Luxembourg mineralogy labs.
So I went to one of my collector friends, one of the founders of AGAB in 1967, Francis Coune, to borrow a pendevilleite and photograph it.
Francis is one of the world's top collectors of Congolese copper crescent minerals.
Here are my shots of the day.
