This quartz specimen is most likely from somewhere in the departamento de Santander.
Peñas Blancas produces Muzo habit crystals.

Thank you for the advice, I looked this up and compared photos and you seem to be right. I can't edit my post anymore, could one of the admins with full access rights please change the locality to "Santander Department, Colombia" - thanks!

Tobi

Locality corrected.

Nice quartz crystals very well positioned on the matrix. I think that a little trimming at the base would greatly improve the specimen, but I do know that this operation is always a risk. Congratulations!

Thank you Carles. I think I will not take the risk of trimming here because the matrix rock seems more stable than the connection between it and the amethyst ;-)

Another specimen, unfortunately it was not possible to make a really good photo. This little beauty consists of three lustrous fluorapatite crystals (all of them about 1,5 cm wide) on a quartz crystal that is partially covered with tiny pyrite crystals. Better in person.

A new galena for my collection, a special one:

This will be my last specimen that I get from Jordi. I was really sad to hear that he quits his business, but also happy to discover this wonderful Romanian galena specimen in his shop. This beautiful piece with its large and well-defined crystals is a very welcome addition to my collection since galena is one of my all-time favourite minerals and this is a beautiful and impressive specimen from the prolific ore deposit of Herja/Romania.

The fact that this will be my last one from Fabre Minerals makes it even more precious for me. It's my 9th and final specimen from our Master Jordi and I cherish them all. Jordi, we will for sure still meet here on FMF, but I have to say farewell to you as a dealer that helped me enhance my collection during the last two years. This galena is really worthy of that farewell.

Thank you, Jordi and all the best for you!
