Wonderful and intense colour!

@Volkmar: Looks as if the dark crystals have a reddish-orange layer underneath, could be some iron-related staining, so the mineral is maybe some limonite/goethite stuff ...?

Volkmar, the dealer indicated that the attached crystals were probably an iron containing mineral and you can see the orange staining on one of the faces near the top of the crystal.

Thank you for the information, Don and Tobi! I have seen the orange-brown stains, and thought of a pseudomorph of "limonite" after something that looks octahedral to me. Therefore my question to you. I assumed, you know...

Nice quartz crystal from an alpine-like area!
I know this region is famous for epidote and I see some greenish inclusions at the bottom of the quartz, is this maybe epidote?
