Hi Joseph,

congratulations on the new specimens! That vivianite is a stunner, a true museum piece! I must confess that vivianite was never a mineral that attracted me until I saw these pieces from Brazil. I would even consider to add one to my collection ;-)

A great piece, the ludlamite too; I can't wait to see the other new additions!

Regards
Tobi

Thank you Tobi, I usually spend a month on my treasure hunt at the Tucson show as many dealers open early, it affords me the time to find some of the more unusual things.

A couple more additions, one that is quite common and one which is rather unusual.

P1011702.JPG
 Mineral: Sulphur

El Desierto Mine, San Pablo de Napa, Daniel Campos Province, Potosí Department, Bolivia
 Dimensions: 7.6x9.5x5 cm's

P1011696.JPG
Mineral: Quartz (variety amethyst) with Calcite
 Locality:
Artigas Department, Uruguay
 Dimensions: 11x6.5x4 cm's
 Description:
An otherwise, rather nondescript amethyst specimen from Uruguay except for the rather interesting calcite wafer that is attached near the base. There is a partial hexagonal shaped crystal of calcite that is penetrated through it's center by a column of calcite coated by a skin of clear druzy quartz crystals. The calcite crystal shows an interrupted growth pattern on either end of the terminations and does not appear to be etched.

More interesting Calcite form than the one I have in a geode from Brasil

That calcite form makes the specimen quite special. All of us have seen many many many combinations of calcite on amethyst from Uruguay (and Brazil) but for sure not often with such a hexagonal shaped calcite!
