I recently purchased this wondeful dioptase. It has become my favorite. It has the top luster, color, and some gemminess. From now on my collection will consist of mostly thumbnail and miniature specimens.

Large, firey orange-red crystals with top luster, especially on the left side. I chose to add a peg in the back to put less pressure on the glue (since the specimen is top heavy).

Nice vanadinite! And yes, given the density of vanadinite, stabilizing it with the small peg was a wise decision ;-)

Thanks Tobi. It was 2nd time hot gluing a specimen onto a base. I am sure some would have mount this specimen without a peg or support, but I wanted to be safe.

You did right, mounting a specimen is better than repairing the broken pieces of one ;-)
