The Smithsonite reminds me of the small intestines and colon and ileocecal junction ;-)

Thank you Tobi, we bought it from an old man with a beautiful collection whose family is not interested in this part of his legacy, so he sells his collection piece by piece. The two Ferberites we posted earlier come from his collection too.

Hi Don, now you mentioned it : yes indeed. So that's what they call a aesthetic mineral!

Very nice specimens, Rob. The Naica gypsum is quite unsual, a great natural sculpture. And I just love that Joplin Field galena, simply perfect!

Thank you Tobi for your nice words. On the label it says that it's from "The Cave of Swords", but I doubt if that is true so I did not mention it. I hope not, they better leave that cave alone!

PostPosted: Jan 11, 2021 10:19    Post subject: Re: Collection of Annemieke en Rob Schnerr

A question:

The next piece I bought on the internet at an auction. The seller says he has a mineral shop in Sevilla and has 30 years experience with minerals.
I could not find any reference to the location "Albero Quarrys, Alcalá de Guadaira, Sevilla, Andalusia, Spain", but the seller says it is a new find of 2019. He also mentioned that the matrix is "calcarenita" which contains small fossil remains formed by the accumulation of detritic materials.

Question : can anybody confirm this (especially the location)?

Greetings,
Rob

PostPosted: Jan 11, 2021 10:26    Post subject: Re: Collection of Annemieke en Rob Schnerr

Two minutes ago I received a mail from the seller. He wrote the following:

"Hello, the provenance is correct. I have discovered them myself and extracted them from the quarry. It is not in Mindat because it is a new, exclusive, and currently secret discovery.
Kind regards, Salvador Álvarez"

So I think "Albero quarries" is a temporary name.

Greetings,
Rob
