Another progress photo. My vesuvianite painting is coming along now. Here it is in front of the photo. Working off an Apple display always me to get more vibrant color than working from a printed photo.

At last, the 2013 Paint Off is complete! Thanks to Steve and Brunhild. This was the most challenging painting I've ever done. And thanks again to Ploum for giving us permission to paint this beautiful piece!

The newest one is great, it looks like a photograph, you did an awesome job. They are all awesome, but this is my favorite version, though I do really like the one with the black background as well, black does a great job bringing out the colors, they all look great, you are all one heck of an artist, Steve, Brunhild, Ed, you guys rock, not sure I would ever be able to top these.

Thanks, Daniel! I think that anyone can be good at art. It takes a lot of practice, but eventually it clicks and each artist finds their own approach. My way of painting happens to be very inefficient. But I guess my personality as an artist is to get hung up on every detail ;) All approaches in the end are successful if the artist achieves his or her personal goal.

I rarely work in color, I never paint, when I do color it is either digital or colored pencil or ink. Most my works are in pencil or charcoal. I would love to show some of them off on here but I have no mineral related pictures aside from the ones I posted the other day.

Hi Ed,
your artwork is fantastic: in Germany we say: was lange währt wird endlich gut - means what takes a lot of time is finally really good. And so I am amazed about your painting.

Good job artists!
Per request of Brunhild, on Friday we will prepare a PDF with the three artworks together and we will publish a smaller version of this PDF here, with a link to that PDF. Then everyone can compare the three tables.

We were lucky and we had enough time to prepare it. Here it is, if you want to see it in (a little bit) higher quality / resolution, please do click in the image or in this link

I am very happy with the result. Thanks Jordi, for your quick help and the possibility to have this event here in FMF.
Thanks to Steve and Ed, who joined my idea. It was fun for me to work with you together and may be, we do anything like that again?
Thanks to Ploum, the photograph and to all viewers - specially to Mrs. Robinson.
Regards
Brunhild
