Big and unusual specimen for a tellurides sample, with botryoidal, encrusting Rhodochrosite and abundant Sylvanite associated with darker Nagyagite. Very impressive! From an old collection, obviously.

sylvanite04.jpg
 Description:
Sylvanite
Baia de Arieş (Offenbánya), Alba Co., Romania
8x6x2,5 cm
Beautiful sample, in my opinion, that must be appreciated under the microscope. Shows many distinct quite well formed Sylvanite crystals up to 5 mm on crystallized Quartz (similar to the Sylvanite from the Emperor Mine), very rare aspect for this locale.
 Viewed:  47198 Time(s)

sylvanite04.jpg

nagyagite03.jpg
 Description:
Nagyagite, Rhodochrosite
Sacarîmb (ex Nagyág), Deva, Hunedoara Co., Romania
7x6x4 cm
Exclusive, very rare and uncommon sample, with many complete, large (up to 2 cm ) Nagyagite crystals preserved by the encrusting Rhodochrosite and Quartz.
Usually large crystals of Nagyagite are broken, because it is very tender and fragile. From very old collection (late 1700-first 1800).

Thank you Simon for showing us so many wonderful and interesting specimens from your collection. It is obvious a collection gathered during decades. Clearly well-selected by a real collector, who has prioritized his time and devoted much time and energy, and resources to the special interest. Congratulations!
Kind regards,
