I was on a "break" from here as many of you realized because I have been posting "grade school" questions on here and I admit my questions on comments were not up to standards for this site and I was even able to answer my own questions by doing a little research on my own. I am sorry to all the admins and members on here but I have been studying hard and am back to add to the conversation in a more, grown up way I guess you could say or even more educated would probably be a better way to say that. Once again I am sorry for what I posted in the past and I will post on here if I can't figure it out for myself by doing all I can do and I will only reply with intellectual replies.

Hi Daniel -

Out of curiosity, what references have you been using to find answers to your questions? I started a thread some time ago about FMF-recommended books to include in an "ideal" beginner's library. Perhaps some of these references, if you don't have them yet, might help you get information more easily...maybe you could tell us what sources you are working with and we could guide you more...? Just a suggestion.

- Tracy

I purchased several books on identifying rocks and minerals with pictures and information on rocks and mineral. One of them has a bit of history in it as well but I would love to find a book with a lot of info about the history of minerals and rocks and the uses throughout history. Do you remember the name of that post?

It's called "creating the ultimate library for beginner collectors" and is in the Mineralogical Literature section -> https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?t=548

My first posts weren't particularly memorable either.
