PostPosted: Aug 17, 2016 12:34    Post subject: Mineralogical Museum of Marburg, drawn by me :-)

I posted impressions of this 2009 in the thread about my collection at the Marburg Museum, but most of our members today may not know that I've got some skills in drawing and that I drew the museum's building in 2009. I gave the drawing to the museum as a gratitude for having the honour of displaying parts of my collection there. I just want to present these pictures to the FMF community to show how the ancient building looks where the museum resides; a museum that is well represented in this forum ( https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewforum.php?f=31 ).

Tobi,

Great job on the museum drawing, and how nice to have part of your collection on display there. You should be very proud.

Congratulations for having your minerals in a museum.
The drawing is nice; have you ever tried to draw minerals ?

Only once, to be honest, a drawing of a pyrite specimen as a gift for my uncle. Don't know why, but this became never a subject of interest for me. I rather drew dog portraits and surrealistic stuff, here some of my best works:

Unfortunately for some reason I didn't see them when posted, I missed this topic. They are exquisite and very impressive drawings. They look somewhat like a Salvador Dalí style, the worldwide known Catalan painter.

Tobi, have my warmest congratulations.

Thank you, Carles. Indeed your fellow countryman Dalí was my inspiration, I'm a big fan of his art.

Thank you, Don :-) There are many more of these paintings, this is just a small selection. But it is long ago that I drew these, I abandoned this hobby 15 years ago ...

... but really cool that you guys like them! :-)

Of course he was only the inspiration for the surrealistic works. The museum drawing and the dog portraits were inspired by our wonderful Marburg Museum and by my love for those wonderful dogs!
