In Tiso (Teis in German) , in Val di Funes, south of Brixen, there is a small mineral museum where you can see a lot of locally extracted geodes.
The geodes are extracted from an old volcanic rock formation (sorry I have not noted the exact geology context) it seems to be a very hard compact and dark rock (looks like Herkimer diamond rock formations). The mineralogy inside these geodes is mainly Quartz (Amethyst) , with minor Calcite, Chabazite, Stilbite, and micro minerals presented as Stibnite.
The geodes size goes up to 10 cm, and some are pretty nice mineral specimens. Sadly none were on sale in the shop (only the basic usual Brazilian stuff)
Aside, there is a collection of Swiss minerals (quartz mainly), and I noticed several superlative Swiss hematites :) (sadly no precise locality) specimens in the cabinet size.

| That's a surprisingly professional looking display, and the "flying jewels" show is impressive. I wonder what their source of funding is. |

I do not think that the entrance fee and shop are enough to pay the room and the desk employees.
Could be a mixture of private funding and city or regional funding (as it is usual in a lot of cultural activities in Europe).
What I understand is that it features the personal collection of self collected minerals from the founder of the Museum, and miscellaneous worldwide specimens (not particularly impressive).
