41.7 grams. Submerged 15.8. Jumps between
-9 to-4. Hardness greater than beryal quartz

This is definitely quartz. Check the hardness again.

Specific gravity (2.64) suggests it is Quartz https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?p=38375#38375
