Some people outside the USA have noted problems in the delivery of the Mineralogical Record
Tom Gressman tells us that on the 13th February they shipped for outside US the volume 54-1 (January/February 2023) using a new system which should be better, and he has asked that as the people outside US receive the copies, post the information here so that he can see if it is working well.
Thanks for your help

Still waiting for the first issue of 2023. My last three issues of 2022 were lost, but Mr. Gressman was kind enough to send me the replacements.

I had this problem twice and Mr. Gressman was very efficient in sending the missing issues.
In fact, the missing issues arrived two months later. Why???
Have not yet received the January/February issue.

Hello,
This discussion gives me the opportunity to thank the editor.
I offer my congratulations on the honoring of commitments.
During its youth, the Mineralogical Record apparently experienced some financial difficulties.
Still, the publisher offered to take out a lifetime subscription!
It was one of the best investments I have made.
Since the 1970s, I have been receiving the MR for free for a price of around 5000 BEF (USD 125).
Of course, I have the complete collection, except the 1st issue which was a copy.
Thank you so much.

Completely agreed with what Carles Millan said!
I have the complete issues, originals, even the doubled ones due that MR did not agree with former color...
But I have paid far more of what dear Roger said....
With best wishes
Lluís
P.D.: that, by the way, is still waiting for MR... I know that Barcelona is maybe farther than Osaka to me (I am just around 30 km north of Barcelona... and Osaka., well, I let you do the calculation....). But done that a book from Osaka arrived to me in three days and a letter to Barcelona may take around a week.....

"La Poste" was on strike in Belgium today.
Too many parcels and there are no more letters.
The postman no longer has time to drink a little drop of whiskey.

Hi James
My copy has just arrived but unfortunately (as is often the case) the corners are damaged because the plastic wrapper is too thin and woefully inadequate for international shipping. I do not understand why the Min. Rec. cannot afford a decent (500 gauge?) polythene mailer for overseas subscribers. I must confess that I've given up asking for replacement copies, partly because it does not seem fair on the organisation and partly because whilst originally I thought it important to have 'pristine' copies for eventual passing on / selling upon my demise, that is no longer the case. In the UK at least there is little interest in back issues. I've been responsible for trying to disperse / re-home several sets on behalf of the spouses of friends who have died and there is next to no interest.
Cheers
Roy

Interesting feedback Roy - I was wondering what to do with mine when I move on, and now I know. Recycle them I guess.
