This query is addressed to Jordi due to the work he has done on specimens from this locality. Last May I acquired a pale blue Gibbsite from the Dale Minerals with an older Rocksmith lable attributed to Baoshan China. My question is this: Does this locality produce Doyleite/Gibbsite or does it produce both Doyleite/Gibbsite and Gibbsite? Some clarification on this question would be helpful and most appreciated.

You be right, on the past Rocksmiths supplied several specimens from the same locality. As the color was paler and I don't analyzed these specimens I can't tell you if your specimen is just Gibbsite or Doyleite / Gibbsite. Anyway, as both minerals are polymorphs I assume that the Rocksmith's specimens had also both species, but without analysis you can't know if the dominant in your specimen is Doyleite or Gibbsite.
