Geode of sparkling quartz from Smara, Western Sahara, Morocco.

Both halves of this geode have sparkling brightness of white quartz crystals. The two halves fit perfectly together, and there is a hole.
I like the contrast between the beauty inside and the unattractive outside.

Quartz from San Cristobal, Santander, Colombia.

Large crystal showing like a sword.
It has two very wide parallel faces, and a pearly interior that is not quite clear at the base.
The clarity is increasing to the top, where we see an interesting curvy sculpture of milky smoke.
With some Goethite in the corner.
Perfectly cut to look inclined.

Spodumene (variety kunzite) from Afghanistan.

This is the cousin of the previous post. From that one stone this gem is born.
The use of the kunzite in jewelry is recent. It is a brilliant crystal that presents delicate tones lilac, pink or violet.

Cut and polished lilac gem kunzite crystal that exhibits a vitreous luster.
Clearly a Colombian purchase cause they write kunsite with “s” instead of the “z”.
----------------------------------
Magnetite from Badajoz, Spain.

Octahedral Magnetite crystals of 2/3mm length on black rock matrix.

In memory of Juan Carlos Agua who gave me this specimen and who passed away too young perhaps two years ago.

Quartz from Boyacá, Colombia.

I think it may be a Muzo habit Quartz rather than Tessin habit, acquired in December 2017 in Medellín downtown.
In a crystal with Muzo habit the m prism faces consist of alternating z and m faces. These alternating types of faces can be well visible but also almost absent.

Muzo habit Quartz with the cross section of the upper half presenting four faces, while the lower part remains six sided though very two of them are narrow.
This piece has growth with very defined striations all along the three faces.
