| The quartz localities in the Cascades are under snow this time of year. When the mts melt out, Google Hansen Creek, a good place for amethyst and clear quartz.

| Habit is called ochsenauge, means 'ox-eye' in german. I haven't seen a good explanation of the formation, but the octohedrons grow curved, don't think a trisoctohedron is involved. | |
