I really don't think this forum is for rock identification. I posted these pictures in a yahoo rockhounding group yesterday and got them all named by 4 different members.

No it is not hard enough to be agate. Perhaps this is the wrong forum for my rocks. Does anyone know of a rock id forum that is for rockhounds and lapidary types?

2 - LOCALITY,? I got it from my rock club in southern California so it may be local

3 - MATRIX, soft like chalcedony

4 – COLOR, purple and off white

5 - LUSTER semi porous and a little flakey ...

sorry the guy who gave it to me had no idea what it was. It's hard stuff like a jasper in hardness I guess. I am new here and will learn how to post better in the future with better details.
