Hi,
My favorite specimen is this 9,5 x 6 cm vivianite sample from Bayerland mine, Waldsassen, Fichtelgebirge, Bavaria. You´ll see even better ones from Llallagua/Bolivia or Trepca/Kosovo but I guess you´ll never see a German as good as the shown one.
Some comment on the quotation: I personally don´t think you need so much money to build up a good collection. Well, I know, it depends on what you want to have in your displays, sure. But what it really takes is brain, you´re right there. You ought to see what other people don´t see. And you always have to know what you want.
Andreas

Hi JL !
On this specimen, spontaneously it seems that :
the aquamarine is like a frozen waterfall,
the schorl is a man who is climbing,
the upper quartz being his head.
or something like this.
Your stone is alive !

That would be nice, Henk, your specimens look really interesting. But please provide the sizes of each one. Your sceptered amethyst crystal, for example, is very beautiful. But is it 1 cm or 5 or 10 or more? Please add the sizes to the specimens yet posted and also to the ones you will share with us in the future - I'm eagerly anticipating them :-)
Cheers!

Hi, Henk, welcome. Cool pieces.
The members can edit their own posts only before another member writes the following one. I suppose you mean the previous posts so you can add the measures. Jordi Fabre, the moderator of this section, is the only one who can. I suggest you sending the measures to Jordi Fabre by mp. I am sure he will add them as soon as he can. Obviously he is always very busy.
Cheers,
Antonio

Thanks for the explanations Antonio. More details here -> https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?t=404
Please Henk send to me a "pm" with the dimensions and I will add it to your fine images.
Jordi

Thanks Jordi! You are too kind (pm sent). Has anyone seen a carrolite crystal of that size from the DRC before? The crystal is not all that shiny, but i kept the specimen because of the sheer size of that crystal.

You can look on https://www.mindat.org/gallery.php?min=911 for examples of Carrolite. One picture crystal is 5cm, but most are much smaller.

Thanks for that link GneissWare! That 5cm specimen is insane! I will have to speak to my suppliers of congo material to be on the lookout for such a specimen for my colection. Wow!
