PostPosted: Apr 21, 2010 13:18    Post subject: Hessonite locality in Afghanistan?

I consider a specimen of garnet var. hessonite from Afghanistan. It is provided with the locality info "Tagao Mine, Kunar, Afghanistan". I became a little bit suspicious of that because i never heard that name before. Mindat doesn't know a locality with that name, even Google was no help. So i fear that something could be wrong with that information. Does anybody know what place could be meant with that description? Or maybe it was just a typing error and the name is something similar? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

If you google "tagao kunar afghanistan" or "tagao konar afghanistan" over 600 occurrences will be found. By googling "tagao kunar afghanistan minerals" you will find more than 100.
